Step Nine: Hold Still
Due to a very hectic start to third quad, I’ve been breaking down. Bad. But tonight I had a great conversation with two amazing men, Jacob and John, and for the first time in a very long while, they made me feel like I am worth something. I felt love, I felt comfort, I felt hope. After I returned to my dorm, I opened a letter Jacob had given me earlier, which contained two beautiful pieces of scripture. The exact words that I needed so badly. Reading the last few lines, I realized that I’m ready to fight this, and God will lead me home.
“Be still and know, that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Step Eight: Forgive
I have a hard time with this, forgiveness is something I’ve never been great at and to be completely honest, I hold three long grudges from my past. These three people represent a long history with different forms of abuse, from the physical, to the emotional, and finally the sexual. I will never forget, but I will my hardest to forgive. I’m ready to let go.
